Malala revealed on her Twitter page that she got married to Asser Malik on Tuesday in a nikkah ceremony that took place at her parents’ house.
She also shared photos from the Islamic ceremony which was attended by family and friends.
“Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life,” she wrote.Advertisement

“Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.
Malala is a 24-year-old Pakistani activist for girls’ education.

The spotlight beamed on her in 2012 after she became a target of the Taliban — as an 11-year-old residing in the city of Mingora — due to her refusal to obey orders banning girls from school.
The Pakistani women’s rights activist found Malala in the West Midlands after she was shot in the head by the Taliban.
In 2014, she became the youngest-ever Nobel Peace Prize winner after she won the prestigious accolade for advocating for girls to have a universal right to education.
Malik, her partner, is the general manager of high performance at the Pakistan Cricket Board.Advertisement
