السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
It is never in my habit to write on social media, particularly what has to do with politics, but I found it imperative at this crucial time to share my Observation with our leaders, brothers and sisters.

The rate at which the presidential candidate of of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, was being promoted on some Christian platforms, churches and social media is quite alarming. Meanwhile, to me I see nothing bad in it initially.

Until I met two Christian leaders who happened to be partners in my office. While discussing politics and whom to vote in the next presidential election, one of them uttered “we will show Tinubu because he has been warned against Muslim-Muslim ticket”.

This statement later drew my attention to the fact that campaigning for “Obi” by some of the Christian leaders is not based on competency but because of the hatred against Muslims as leaders. And none of them talked about incompetency of BAT except calling him bad names as somebody calling him “diapers president” subhanallah! What a bad set of people.

Despite the hues and cries against PMB from the so-called group on Islamisation agenda in the country, the question is to what extent has PMB been able to Islamise Nigeria? Those people see nothing bad in Christian-Christian ticket presently in Osun, Ondo and Ekiti.

To worsen the situation, in my discussion with some Muslim leaders on this coming Saturday election. Some of them reacted that ” mi o ni teta” meaning I won’t go out on that day”.

This baffles me a lot that when some are planning to deal with your brother through voting, you are planning to sleep at home or watch the disgrace of your brother. The question is how will a leader who planned to sleep at home on that day convince their followers to go out and vote? What a serious setback!

Don’t be deceived, some unscrupulous leaders have drawn this election along religion. Infact, this Saturday election will dictate the strength of Muslims in terms of number in South Western state. Particularly, in Ondo state where the “campaign” reigns most.

Though, the economic situation in the country is not encouraging but does that mean we should fold our hands to allow people to rub us of our rights.

To this fact, I will encourage all our Imams and Alfas to make it as a point of duty to sensitise their followers on the importance of:

  1. going out to vote with their family
  2. voting for Muslim in this coming Saturday election particularly in the next Juma’at congregation.

استيقظوا ايها المسلمون
(Muslims let’s wake up)
,جزاكم الله خيرا

Pls share on Muslim platforms
