The Islamic Scholars who have received the Blessing of reading the Qur’an with a sweet voice are called Qaris. The Quran is an excellent bit of writing written in the Arabic language. In contrast to the Christian Bible, the Qur’anic Chapters are referred to as “Surah” and the Verses are referred to as “Ayah”

1. Sheikh Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz Al Sudais
Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais was born on February tenth, 1960 in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is of Anza faction of the Najd territory. During his childhood, Abdul was an excellent student. He had mastered the Holy Quran by the age of 12 years.
Currently, Rahman is the General President of the Affairs of the two Holy Mosques, commander in chief of the special forces of the security of the two Holy Mosques and the leading Imam at Masjid Al-Haram.
He studied at Al Muthana Bin Harith elementary school and graduated in 1979. He proceeded to study a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah at the Riyadh University. After his graduation in 1983, he enrolled for a master’s degree at Mohammad Bin Saud Islamic University and finished in 1995.
He studied his Ph.D. at Umm Al Qura University. Rahman is considered one of the best readers in the world. He has received many awards and recognitions. In 2005, for example, he received the “Islamic Personality of the Year.’”
2. Sheik Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy
Mishary Bin Rashid was born on September 5th, 1976, in Kuwait. He is among the most famous Quran reciters in the world. He is the Imam of Masjid Al-Kabir located in the city of Kuwait and is known for his exemplary recitation ability.
On October 25th, 2008, the Imam was awarded the first Arab Creativity Oscar by the Arab Creativity Union in Egypt.
The Sheikh has two Space channel, Alafasy TV and Alafasy Q. Sheikh Mishary.
In August 2009, he released a nasheed video called Ramadan under the Zain label where he sings in Arabic, English, and French.

3. Sheikh Ahmad Ali Al-Ajmi
Sheikh Ahmad Ali was born on February 24th, 1968, in Khobar Province, Saudi Arabia. Before he became famous for his recitation prowess, he studied the interpretation of Quran in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
He is an Imam at mosques in Jeddah and Khobar. For years he has perfected the art of reciting the Quran and as a result, he ranks among the best you will ever find.
4. Saad Al Ghamidi
Sheikh Saad is a Qari, researcher, and Imam from Saudi Arabia.
Ghamidi is known to produce some of the world’s best Quran recitations ever. Despite the fact that he studied Islamic law, Ghamidi has decided to devote much of his time and energy in Qur’anic recitation and nasheed.
He memorized the Quran at the age of 22 years. Saad’s soulful voice and Tajweed has attracted the attention of many people and thus a choice voice in several Radio and Television stations.
5. Saud Ibn Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Al-Shuraim
Sheikh Saud is a Quran reciter of Hanbali category. He is most identified with his unique melodious voice during his Quran recitation. Sheikh Shuraim is a professor of Islamic law and Islamic studies.
He has of vast knowledge in Islamic poetry, Aqeeda, and Figh. He is one of the Imams and Khateeb at the Grand Mosque of Makkah, thanks to his academic achievements and beautiful voice that many Imams try to emulate. He was awarded Islamic Personality of the Year in 2005 at the Dubai International Holy Quran awards.
6. Sheikh Abu Bakr Al-Shatri
Abu Bakr is a Saudi Imam and one of the Quran readers. He was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1970. He was raised in Jeddah. He studied ‘Holy Quran Studies’ and graduated from Cheikh Aymane Rochdi Suwaid in 1416 Hijri.
Al-Shatri has been an Imam of several mosques in Saudi Arabia. Currently, he is the Imam of Al Furkane Mosque in Hay Annassim, Jeddah. Additionally, he has taken part in several Islamic Conferences in countries such as Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, South Africa and many more.

7. Sheikh Maher Al-Mueaqly
Al-Mueaqly was born on January 7th, 1969 in Madina. He is the Imam of the Grand Mosque in the Holy city of Makkah. He got a Masters in Sharia from Umm Al Qura University in 2004. From the same year, he returned to Makkah and began to preach and recite the Holy Book.
He was appointed Imam in Masjidul Haram, Makkah in 2007 and ever since he has been leading Taraweeh.
His beautiful Quran recitations have featured on a TV satellite station called Al Arab.
8. Sheikh Mohammad Tablawi
Mohammad Tablawi is recognized worldly as one of the famous Quran reciters in the world. He is an Egyptian Imam and Quran readers. He was born on November 14th, 1934.
Sheikh Tablawi began practicing for the best Quran reciter for memorization at four years old. At ten, he had completed the memorization. He gained popularity at 15 years as a reciter and gave much of his admired voice to the recitation of the Quran.
He earned a degree in Al-Azhar’s Recitations in 1954.
9. Qari Abdul-Basit Abdus-Samad
Sheikh Abdul-basit was a Qari of Egyptian birthplace famous for his remarkable recitation and thusly, numerous cutting edge reciters receive his style of recitation. She has also won an international Quran recitation award in Malaysia emerging as the first female to win the prize. She is married to Mukhtar Ikhsan, and their family is blessed with three children.
